Cameron Young celebrates his first PGA Tour victory Sunday in Greensboro, NC

Cameron Young delivered a career-defining performance at the 2025 Wyndham Championship, claiming his long-awaited first PGA TOUR victory in dominant fashion. The Wake Forest alum—playing just 30 minutes from his collegiate stomping grounds—fired rounds of 63-62-65-68 to finish at 22-under-par and win by six strokes at Sedgefield Country Club.

Young’s triumph was both historic and emphatic. He became the 1,000th unique winner in PGA TOUR history and the 23rd player to earn their first TOUR title at the Wyndham. After seven career runner-up finishes, the 28-year-old finally broke through with authority. Despite a bogey at the opening hole Sunday, Young responded with five consecutive birdies to grow his lead to nine at one point before coasting home.

His victory vaulted him to No. 16 in the FedExCup standings and No. 15 in the U.S. Ryder Cup points, putting him firmly in the conversation for a captain’s pick.

Mac Meissner finished solo second at 16-under, followed by Mark Hubbard and Alex Noren at 15-under. Defending champion Aaron Rai tied for fifth at 14-under with Chris Kirk and amateur sensation Jackson Koivun.

The week also marked the final event of the FedExCup Regular Season. Matti Schmid birdied his last three holes to claim the final spot at No. 70 in the standings, edging out Davis Thompson (No. 71) by a single position.

With ideal conditions, historic scoring and thrilling postseason playoff drama, Sedgefield Country Club and the 2025 Wyndham Championship once again delivered!
